The enhancements to Test Base for Microsoft 365 continue! In this article, we share the new Test Base capabilities that make it even easier to test your applications against Windows client and server operating system updates. Let’s see what you can now do in a Microsoft-managed test environment.
Test your applications on Windows 11, version 23H2
Test Base offers the capability to test Windows 11, version 23H2 by navigating to the Feature update section, then Insider Channel, and a dropdown to select the Feature On (with new features rolled out) option.

An initial validation run will be executed against the latest updates on your selected channel. Based on the selection, you’ll be able to test against all upcoming feature updates for that channel.
You can select your base operating system (OS) from the OS baseline for Insight dropdown. This will provide you with test insights and regression analysis of your test results between your base OS environment and the latest target OS.

Test updates using your own images
Understanding your need to validate your apps on a custom build, Test Base has developed a new service, Custom Image. This service enables you to upload your own image as a baseline for validating your application’s compatibility with the latest Windows updates and upgrades. For instance, you can assess the readiness of your Windows 10 image for an upgrade to Windows 11.
After announcing private preview in the July blog post, we improved the experience and quality based on your feedback. This new service is available to everyone on the Test Base portal, located under the portal menu Custom Image | New image.
