I bought an old computer. When I look at the processoir in system information
it says I have

x86 family 15 model 2 stepping 7 genuineintel 2391 mhz

What does that mean? Does it have a pentium 4? Is it even a pentium
processor? Help!

That seems to be a Pentium 4. For more details, consult Intel's web site.

Example of a Pentium 4, with family code 0xF27. The three digit number
is hexidecimal, and F = 15.

The entire list of Pentium 4 processors is here.

Face value? Intel Pentium IV 2.4 GHz
There's more than one version. That's why the other replier gave you the
link.
