I want a Core Distro that gives me a MATE DE and a Terminal and NOTHING else so that I can install the music player, video player, office suite, ect. that I want to use and not have a bunch of extra junk pre-installed that I'll never even look at let alone use.
Is there anything like that in the Linux World or are we all pretty much stuck with all the extra junk that Distros push off onto us?
Arch scares the heck out of me, not sure why, guess it'd because I'm so use to "apt-get" and the thought of having to learn pacman seems daunting but I'm at the point in my Linux journey where I just want to "roll my own" so I can get what I want.
Anyway, just needed to vent a little bit and also ask a serious question to ya'll, is there any Distro out there that's just Core and no fluff?
