One day my PC is working fine then next day I get "Access Denied" when I try
to open files I created as the Administrator using NotePad.

This experience is not making me a fan of Windows or Microsoft at all.

Is there a solution to this problem?

I run commerical anti-virus and anti-spyware. I also run Windows Defender.

I am running Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all of the latest
patches/fixes/updates.

I am not out of disk space, the PC has 2GB of RAM and is a standalone system
with wireless access to the Internet. In other words there ain't nothing
wrong with the hardware.

Any advice and/or help with this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

And why would you be logged in as The Administrator, and creating files?

We're happy for ya.

If this is your first experience with either Windows OR Microsoft,
I've gotta wonder if you just woke up from a 20-year coma, or are you
like, 9 years old. ??
