What does this message mean & how do I fix it? I got this message when I
tried to start an application.

The procedure entry
point?CopyRect@PIsm@QAEHPAVI@PAULtagPoint@PAULtagRECT@@h@z could not be
located in the dynamic link library.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I don't know the specific meaning but I'd suggest that something somewhere
has become corrupt. Can you still otherwise use the app? If not I'd
uninstall and re-install the software.

Best wishes,

Jim

It means that the DLL that's referenced has been replaced with one of the
wrong version, with one that doesn't have the function specified.

Try reinstalling the application; you may need to uninstall it first.

How do you know what version you should be reinstalling? Are missing
dll files, missing from the application or from Windows XP its self?
I'm assuming these would be the only way that you could have gotten any
dll file into my PC. If this is the case should they not be on either
the Application or XP CD. The program in question is the 'Smart panel'
for an Epson printer.

It may be, but please don't assume that I read much beyond the OP's
question - and looking back, I did read yours, and you did not know the
meaning of the error message.

Providing the meaning without the solution that it implies would not be
logical, and less helpful.

I have tried reinstalling but to no avail. I have done a search of both
the scanner s software as well as XP's disk as well but the missing
dll's weren't found.

The application installer should look after that.

Can't tell without knowing what the files in question are.

Uninstall and reinstall the Epson software.

What are the names of the DLL in question?

These files are probably embedded in another installation file, which is why
you can't find them with a search. Be sure to *remove* the application
completely before reinstalling. Say YES if the uninstaller asks if you want
to delete files.

You should also contact Epson Support as the error message appears when you
use their software.

You will have to include the full error message *and* the name of the DLL.
