SpyBot offers protection for Global Hosts. What are they, and should
that box be checked?

This question was asked before and I believe the answer was "no", but in my
IMHO that 'no' is qualified, meaning it holds true for Win2000, XP and Vista
users, not for Win98 and ME. Host files are used to block unwanted parasites
and in the afore mentioned Systems they are quite large, while Win98 and ME
are not effected, according to experts.
I still have WinME and all boxes checked, including 'Global Hosts', with no
ill effects. The choice is your's. <H>.

Try Spybot S&D/Immunize and find it at the very bottom, H, as
"Global[hosts]".

It's not your eyes, it's the sun (of Texas) reflecting in the snow.

You are NOT blind.....I have searched exactly where Har Har says and
there is absolutely NO Global Hosts on the Immunization page. Perhaps
he is using the newer version of S & D. I am still using the old
one......are you?

Looks like v. 1.5.1.15 and Harry is right. I looked on the immunize page,
as I had before, and at the bottom, bigger'n Dallas, there it is....Global
Hosts! And, I have it checked. Now, as I am using XP, what seems to be
the problem with having it checked?? I use a modified version of the MVP
HOSTS file, haven't noticed any probs.
Heirloom, old and still stumped

It may be a local (vs. general) problem, H, nothing to worry about. <H>.
