Am trying to find the area/diag box where associations can be set for .wav files to be played when a
mail comes into outlook xpress.

Been to
1)C/panel Sounds
2)'' '' '' Multimedia

Couldnt find much else in C/panel.
Did a search for .wav's on my Cdrive,, found the one that my email uses at the moment, (it was
buried so damn deep in windows,,, i mean, it took a lot of looking just to find it)(there are
many other .wavs in that folder, dont know how outlook knows how to choose the one its using right
now.?)

Anyone know where I can choose another .wav file at will to associate itself with my email room?
What folder should I put it in? Where in windows do I go to change a .wav whenever I want?

Hope this is enough information to show my request.

Thank you for help

1. This is governed by our email software. E.g. Outlook Express
configures this via / Tools / Options / General / "Play sound" checkbox

2. After this has been configured, the app with a sound setting is
added to the roster in Windows / Control Panel / Sounds.
We can then highlight the individual function, test various sounds,
and choose which we prefer.

You want to go back into the Sounds and Multimedia control panel and go to
the Sounds tab. In Sound Events, click on New Mail Notification. The name of
the current. wav file will be displayed. If you've got your own files you
want to use, click on Browse and navigate to the file of your choice. If you
want, you can create your own Sound Scheme this way. I've downloaded my own
wav files and use these mail and starting and closing Windows.
