Want to link Skype & Microsoft, but have isues to resolve first. Can't reach Skype. Nothing...

I signed up with Skype long ago with an EarthLink account that is now closed; I use a "gmail" account now (only). I, apparently, have an incorrect password so I can't access my Skype account. I can't use the password retrieval option as the system sends the message to the former and closed earthlink account. I can't access my profile in Skype to change/update my email address, nor can I contact Skype (apparently) via email, chat, phone, nothing, or in any way to update my account with my new email address. Once amended, then link my Skype and Microsoft accounts together, as well as get Skype downloaded on my new computer. Any ideas out there?
