Windows 2000 W2K OS Desktop Icons Loading Slowly

There is about a 1-3 second delay before W2K's icons load on start or
reboot.

All icons load right away except for, My Documents, My Computer, My
Network Places, Recycle Bin, and IE.

Never had this problem before. I've had them all load slowly, but that
was resolved with a simple defrag.

Any ideas?
