Vista troubles

As I've rarely had trouble with Vista that I couldn't fix myself(although, I've had my fair share of trouble generally) I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but, nonetheless, I shall.

Over the last several days certain programs, such as Windows DVD Maker and The Sims 2 have refused to work properly. Both shut down without any obvious reason for doing so (They were the only programs running and I have 1GB of RAM). I've tried System Restore and checked everything I know to check to figure it out, but I can't figure out what it is.

Has anyone had this problem or any suggestions that might remedy it for me?
Thanks!

Check Problem Reports and Solutions. If you have nothing there you can
check Event Viewer. One or both of these should lead you to the problem.
By the way, you could use more RAM. I would add another one or two
gigabytes of RAM considering how cheap it is.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out first thing in the morning. I've actually been thinking about just downgrading. I haven't had to take it to anyone to help me solve the issues with Vista, but I've had to solve plenty of them on my own. It's really quite exhausting.

Thanks again!
