I have a W2K3 DC server. Most machines are XP. Just testing Vista now. I
can log on fine with an admin account in the domain, but when I log on to
the Vista pc with a user domain account (roaming), it signs in with Temp and
no settings can be saved.

Is this a permission issue? Or does Vista look elsewhere for profiles? any
help is great thanks.

Hello joe,

If it use a temp account and you use roaming profiles stored on a server,
there will be a connection problem to the share where the user profiles are
stored. Check that the account is configured for the right profile share
and has the correct rights to it. Additional test from the run line with
\\yourserver\usershare if you can access it or if it is only possible with
\\ipaddress\usershare
