::Hello people::

in the user account and therefore the administrator, Yet almost
everything I try to do I get the message you do not have permission
please contact the administrator, tonight I am trying to download the
vista driver for my Lexmark p6350 printer and I am told I do not have
permission but it allows me to download the XP driver, some old files on
my d drive I cannot delete, I need permission.::
::How can I turn this silly checking off, can anyone help here please
its driving me nuts::
::George::

A user with Admin rights is locked down on Vista and only has Standard user
rights in some cases. The user's rights sometimes even Admin rights have to
be escalated with Run As Administrator.

You can always turn UAC off and back on, but you should learn how to work
with UAC.

Try to take ownership of the file and try to delete it. This also depends
upon what the file is and what directory the file is located in, if Vista
will allow you to delete the file, particularly true for files left from a
Vista Upgrade over XP.
