Vista Media Center Guide Won't Completely Update

I recently reinstalled Vista Ultimate on my computer. Before then, the Media
Center Guide would work fine. Now it tries to update, but fails. All the
other MC functions work fine.

I've tried multiple times running the setup, but it hangs at "Download TV
Program Guide" when it says "Status: Downloading. This may take a few
minutes." I've tried selecting other local providers, but same results.

Also, when I try to download the guide via the Guide menu directly, I get a
message that says "Application Error: A critical Window Media Center process
has failed". If I hover over the MC icon in the taskbar, it says
"Downloading Program Guide data, 25 percent complete", but it never completes
and the icon eventually disappears.

Perhaps I need to reinstall Vista MC. Is is possible to just do a repair or
reinstall of jjust Vista MC? Or, perhaps others have solved this problem
another way.

I just developed this problem, too. My best guess is that it has something
to do with a Windows Update. I'm leaning toward a repair install.
