Vista Install - Joke?

When you install Vista, you get to a point where you enter and user name, a
pc name and set the background etc..

Immediately after it performs a performance profile and it asks you to wait.
While you wait some messages display about the new features of Vista... The
first line of the first message displayed reads.. "Time is precious"
.... yet its asking you to wait while it checks your pc's performance.. Is
it a joke?

Never happed to me. I have installed Vista 4 or 5 times and have never seen
that message. Where did you get your copy?

no, just calibrating Vista for your computer,

No more of a joke than having to wait for paint to dry before a surface
becomes usable..

You had to install Vista 4 or 5 times? What a idiot! Maybe the 6th
time you'll be able to get it to work. Lots of luck.

I have installed Vista 4 or 5 times on 4 or 5 DIFFERENT computers.
Something you can't comprehend. I can get Vista to work first time.
Not like you. You probably struggle with your toothbrush. You are
the vista clown and dolt.

I believe its published by Microsoft.

Who waits for paint to dry? No-one.. You paint.. and leave it to move on to
other things.. The wall doesn't call you back half way through drying to
enter a username and pc name now does it?

To me, and I might be alone here... would make much more sense to put the
performance profile _before_ it calls you back to give it more info.

Bill is apparently proud of it too. I wonder how many times Frank
tried to install Vista before he got it to work. Oh wait... Frank
admitted he needed to call Microsoft on phone for help getting Vista
to work. Frank don't like being reminded of that.

deploy.cab on the setup cd includes a utility to enter that data in an
'unattend.txt' or *.INF file. Starting setup from the command line:

winnt32 c:\unattend.txt

There are numerous switches for choosing drive, source, and so on. See
REF.CHM in deploy.cab for details

I guess you also have no reading comprehension. There is nothing
funny about installing 4 copies of Vista on 4 different machines.
Adam probably installs Vista 10 times on the same machine trying to
get it right but just can't figure it out. We feel sorry for you here
in vista land. Better contact Alias and move over to that piece of
crap Ubuntu.

Yeah. We use WDS. I oversaw a standalone install today for the first time
and thought some program manager is taking the micky if they tell us time is
precious while asking us to wait....
