Hi,
I'm curious to see if anyone else will respond, I'd be surprised, but
glad to learn if they do.

Your problem could be a corrupted file in the boot sector. If it were
me, I'd probably take it somewhere like Geek Squad. They have
utilities that will help find the corrupted file and repair it. You
could also be dealing with a hard drive controller failure or mother
board problem. In any case, I'd let someone else diagnose it.

Good luck,

Get the drive taken out of your machine and install it as a slave in another
working computer. then save all of your important stuff off of the drive.
You might also want to get a copy of the recovery partition if there is one
in existence.

After having done this, place the drive back into your own computer, and run
tests on the hard drive (can be obtained from the hard drive manufacturer
web site). Ensure that you run the extensive tests.

If all is ok, do a full system recovery using either your own full system
backup or with whatever provision has been given you by the computer
manufacturer/vendor. You can then copy your important files back to the
freshly installed system.

If the hard drive tests show problems, replace the hard drive with a new
one.

Happened to me too. I had had the computer open and inadvertently pulled
out the power connector on the hard drive.
I would check that the HD cables are OK before taking the good advice from
others.

The hard drive working light would NOT be showing if no power!

Mine was. It is a shared drive light for HD and CD.
The point is - check the simple things first. I nearly got into major HD
tests etc before I spotted it
