i have a file amvo1.dll found on my pc which has been detected by kaspersky
as virus. it had also detected autorun.inf in the root directory of all my
drives, and deleted it. this autorun.inf was not allowing me to open my
drives on double click.

mcafee, symantec or any other antivirus dont remove this autorun.inf file.
please advise what should i do to protect my pc as a preventive measure.
i have found combofix to be useful, but it is curative not preventive.

Do not trust Kaspersky too much

Go to file and Folder options in the control panel and choose to " reset
all" and also use the DOS command instead like this

C:
cd c:\
dir *.inf
type autorun.inf

this will show you what you are dealing with

to make sure you didnt have any other autorun.inf in any other drive and if
you do please open it in notepad and there you will find the culprit.

locate those file and delete them.
