When I want to view *.avi files I get the the visualization instead of the
movie cltp!
Any suggestions?

You probably need to install the proper codecs for that file. Use GSpot
(http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to see what codecs are needed.

Avoid at all costs downloading and installing "Codec Packs": They cause more
problems than they are worth. ONLY download and install Vista compatible codecs
from the manufacturer of the codec needed.

Any particular reason you're recommending pirated software that breaks
DVDMaker due to its misregistration of the Indeo Audio Codec?

You seem to be creating new and different problems here, not solving
anything. =\

Codec packs are really dangerous and their incompetence is about the #1
largest point of errors and failures within the multimedia field. Please
stop promoting them: they're really bad.
