Very strange UAC problem

If I run Vista Home Premium with UAC turned on, my drop down menus on
IE7 (favorites, tools etc) don't work.

If I turn UAC off they work fine.

I have recently added SP1 and no change.

What on earth could be causing this?

I have to run with UAC off.

I have no add-on tool bars and my system is virus and spyware free.

Hi Mary,

With UAC on, click start and type "Internet Explorer" (without the quotes).
One of the menu options will be to start is without add-ons. Try this mode.
If the menus now work, you'll need to isolate the problematic plugin. This
you can do from tools/internet options/programs tab/manage add-ons.
