Thanks for answering Ramesh,
It's detected alright as a 'Skype Phone' but it then looks for the driver
and although the supplied software is installed and the CD is still in the
drive, cannot find a driver and gives up saying the device may not work
correctly etc. And of course although phone has power it doesn't work
correctly.
On the laptop the sound is diverted to the phone and it all works correctly
using the same phone and the same CD
I've tried on all USB ports with the same results.. I have many other
USB devices working correctly..

Hi Michael,
Try to the other USB ports in the system and see if the device is detected.
If you're using an USB hub, disconnect it and try connecting it directly to
the system. Also, check the status of USB devices in the Device Manager.
See if it's listed as an "Unknown device". To make sure that this is not a
problem with the USB controller, try connecting another device (such as
camera, flash drives etc) and see if they're detected by the system.

My XP Desktop fails to recognise this phone (H/W install Wizard etc.)
despite installing the supplied software as suggested etc..
Both phone and software work fine on my XP Laptop PC.. Any sensible
suggestions welcome.
