Of late whenever I try plugging in any new USB device to my Compaq nc6000
laptop which has XP professional version 2000 Service Pack 2 it brings up the
"found harware" window even if the driver is already installed from a disk or
even if it is a simple pen drive. And if i use the option for finding driver
automatically it tries to copy the files from the CD BUT it finally comes out
saying "access denied! your hardware will not work properly" and it is indeed
not working too.

Is this problem familar? Any hints on what should I do?
