i have a microsoft standard wireless optical mouse usb 1000
it is connected to the usb port as my ps2 does not seem to be working. i
will check my bios to see if this can be corrected.

everytime i start my computer, the mouse does not work. i have to
disconnect and reconnect it to get xp to recognize new hardware.
i have installed the new drivers for it, but it still does this..
it is annoying and i want to solve it.
it does not happen if i use a wired mouse.

Try using another USB port.

After you get the mouse working, find the name of the mouse driver (control
panel mouse hardware
properties driver) and verify it is being loaded at bootup.
