USB Boot

I bought a new pc for my work which has all the bells and whistles.
Of course the kids want access to the pc so that they can play the
latest games.

I prefer not to install any games on the pc. I have a couple of
licenses for both Vista Ultimate and XP Pro.

Is there any way to install either Vista or XP on a USB drive and
install their games on that. When they want to play, they can just
boot their drive off USB, making use of the hardware on my pc?

Virtual PC is a better option. However, no matter what you do
to try and let them use it - you'll regret it. Better to spend $325
for a more than capable entry desktop and let them use that.
Kids are like Locust to computers - they'll always consume the
most plentiful spot first and move on to lesser targets.

Virtual PC is a poor if not unusable option for gaming.

Only if your BIOS has a selection to allow it to boot from that device.
If not, NO if so, YES. The most likely answer is going to be NO.

How about dual boot of XP and Vista? You will need to install XP first
then Vista and so the kids can have access to either XP or Vista but not
both! You will need to password protect your OS so that they don't get in!

Wrong.

Even if it DOES... neither XP not Vista will boot from a USB drive,
bucko.

Actually, dummy, there is an XP/SP2 Pro machine sitting right behind me
that can do exactly what you are claiming can't be done. It just doesn't
KNOW it's a USB device. It's a simple thing to do, but due to your
urine-poor closed mind you aren't worth wasting my keyboard on. You
must be enduring a rotten existance.
Flail away fish-boy I've nothing further to say to you.
