When I go to the windows update website, I get the following error message:
Microsoft Update
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options below might help you solve the problem.

For self help options:
Frequently asked questions
Find solutions
Windows update newsgroup

For assisted support options:
Microsoft online assisted support (no cost for windows update issues)
Read more about steps you can take to resolve this problem (error number
0x8024402C) yourself.

I did some research on the error code and the fixes mentioned are to remove
characters from the proxy exception list and then clearing the proxy cache.
In my case, there are no characters to remove from the proxy exception list
to begin with because the list is blank and clearing the proxy cache does not
solve the issue. I noticed that there are other posts on here that bring up
the same issue that I have. Something is preventing me from seeing windows
updates. The website has always worked for me.

microsoft.public.windowsupdate.

Hello dell2350,

Some updates bring the update page to stop. Try this way, stop automatic
update service under services .msc from the run line. Delete the c:\windows\softwaredistribution
folder, start the service, the folder will be rebuilded and try again with
the update page from MS.

Best regards
