I've just reinstalled Windows XP + SP2 and security updates. I am getting
repeated messages to install the following:

Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)

After the auto-install, it tells me that it can't install this update.

Before I reinstalled windows 2 days ago, I had received this same error
message for MONTHS! Then it magically stopped. Now that I've freshly
reinstalled, it's back again!

Thanks,
- LB

This is that KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923789

Adobe has patched that security hole, so do the following:

Follow the instructions to fully uninstall Adobe flash player:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_19166&sliceId=1

Then on listed 2, click the link to download and install
the latest version of Adobe flash player.

Once complete, goto: Start/Windows Update
Allow the scan to complete
Then click the "Custom" button
The troublesome update should no longer be listed
but if it is, place a tick in the box for:
"Never show this update again"
(That is reversible)
