Windows XP Pro SP3. I was finishing a clean install on a ThinkPad R50e when I noticed that I could no longer download updates. Automatic updates used to work like a charm until 2 days ago.
Security Essentials downloaded definition updates fine.

- the WiFi connection that was solved with a driver download from DriverChecker.
- Screen resolution changes sometimes from 1024x768 to 800x600
