Update Agent reports Online as No while it's online

My PC is a VAIO Duo 11 with Windows 8 pre-installed. It was fine at first then suddenly some day Windows Update don't know how to check for update automatically, but when I manually check for one I'll get them all.


I've check the Windows Update log (see end of post) and what draws my attention is it report Online as No, which is wired because Windows Update just finished update Windows Defender a few seconds before, and actually it's really online at that time.

However if I manually trigger the check for update procedure in Windows Update, it will report it Online as Yes again...

Anyone has any idea on this? Anything related to the 0x8024a000 problem?
