I have a new PC with Windows 7 but have an older computer with Windows XP as I have a CADD program that will not run on Windows 7. I installed SP3 some time ago and have not used the CADD program since. I used it the other day and when I went to print it would not function correctly so contacted the company that pulishes the CADD program and after explaining the problem they told me the problem was caused by SP3 and I have to uninstall it.
I went to control panel-add remove programs and tried to uninstall it. It went through the first four of the five steps just fine but when it got to Running processes before uninstall it came up with a message stating The system cannot find the file specified, but did not specify the file. Then it said The Service Pack 3 was not uninstalled.
I follwed methods one and two of the instructions at the following link but neither of them worked and both gave the same results as above (which wasn't surprising).

I am apprehensive about using method 3 as I have installed a fair amount of software since installing SP3.
I have not tried method 4 as I do not have a Windows XP installation disk, only a recovery disk that came with the computer.
I would appreciate knowing if there is anything else I can try before restoring to a previous restore point or another method that may avoid having to reinstall a lot of software.
Thank you
