Ulead Photoimpact 12 was installed from
a magazine disk.
I want to uninstall this program.
There is no entry in Control-Panel Add/Remove
and there is no uninstall provided with the program.
If I try to re-install the program in the hope that
I will have an option to uninstall, I cannot
overlay the existing program.
I am tempted to chance deleting the
Ulead folder in C:\Program Files.
Or would you advise removing the
shortcuts and leaving the program file
where it is.
Can you please advise me?

Hi,

I looked at the site Og provided and not much help there. There may be a
Uninstall located in the program itself. Many times a program won't write to
the Registry as it's suppose to and nothing shows up in Add/Remove. All
Add/Remove does is point to the folder where the program is located and
calls the unins001.exe or similar.

Look in the Program Files folder on your hard drive for the Ulead
Photoimpact folder and see if you can find a file unins001.exe. If so double
click it and that will uninstall the program.

All the best,
George

Perhaps if you run the install program again (from the CD) it might give the
option to uninstall - but I'm suprised it is not listed in Add/Remove
programs.

When I run into problems uninstalling bad software, I do a System
Restore to a date before it was installed. Seems to solve the
problem.

Many Thanks for your replies.
ULead has been taken over by Corel.
Exchanges with Corel have taken some time,
and have been useless.
Briefly.
There is no 'uninstaller' in Start -> Programs
No entry for ULead PhotoImpact 12 in
Control Panel,
No 'uninstaller' nor 'unins0001' in
My Computer -> Program Files -> ULead Systems.
There are entries in the Registry.
I Seem to have two options.
1. Remove all the shortcuts and leave it alone.
2. Delete the ULead Systems folder from
My Computer -> Program Files.

I value your opinions.
I seem to recall a stir caused by a corrupted
Microsoft Installer, subsequently corrected
in an 'Update' ? Could explain my problem
but it doesn't help me.

Decided to take the red blooded approach,
Set Restore Point, did Registry back-up.
Deleted the ULead Systems folder from
My Computer -> Program Files.
Rebooted, all seemed to work.
Emptied the Recycle bin, used a Registry clean.
Rebooted, all seemed OK.
Defragged.
Set Restore point, did another Registry Back up.
Breathed a sigh of relief.
Not adviseable, but I got away with it.
