Hi to all
I am trying to upload my C.V to Reeds employment Web site and for some
reason I get an error message when I save the file. The error message says
Invalid File Extention. Do I need to do anything on my computer to enable
file sharing. I have been able to upload to Reed's in the past but on another
computer. Can anyone help me solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

What does the message "Invalid File Extension" look like?
Is it coming up in the web browser?
What *is* the file extension you are attempting to upload?

Not that you directly answered any of my questions...
- What does the error look like? Is it inside the web page (just text
inside the web browser) or is is a pop-up (a windows error message)?
- What is the file extension of the file you are attempting to upload
(*.doc, *.xls, *.txt, *.exe, etc.)

Given what you have, however:
I would bet you have not uploaded a Microsoft Word Document created in Word
2007 to this web site before?
So the file extension in this case is "*.docx". It may well be they do not
yet accept said format. Contact them and find out.

In the meantime:

Open the document you created (In microsoft Word 2007) and do a "Save As"
and change the type to "Word 97-2003" and save it as a new name and attempt
to upload that newly saved document (which will have the *.doc extension
now.)

Word File menu has a 'save as web page' item (*.htm). This is the format
Reed's wants for your cirriculum vitae (resume'). Word saves by default as a
'document' (*.doc)

I don't know anything about this web site or what format they want,
but my guess is that they probably want a .doc file. Doc was the
default extension used by Microsoft Word in all versions *before*
2007. In 2007, Microsoft changed the default format for Word and
created a new extension, .docx, for it. So what may be happening is
that Reed doesn't like the .docx file you are sending them, and wants
a .doc file instead.

If that's the case, in Word 2007, instead of doing a Save, do a Save
As, and choose the old .doc extension.
