Oriinal Title: Win 8.1 Upgrade: "Sorry, this update isn't available"
Greatings everyone,
got a problem trying to upgrade a windows 8 machine to 8.1
After months decided to ask here. Hope to get what I'm missing with your help.
Downloaded Win8 Pro x64 from dreamspark.
Burned to Disc.
Installed on desktop, activated with provided key from dreamspark, obtained thanks to my university program.
All good.
Purcheased samsung SSD, obtained Windows 8 upgrade as gift.
Using same dreamspark disc, installed on laptop.
Activated using key received from Samsung. Activated successfully.
Currently windows 8 on laptop is updated to yesterday (2014-03-12). Successfully installed KB2871389 & KB2917499.
/sfc /scannow did not found any integrity violation.
Can't see win 8.1 upgrade in windows store.
Clicking on ms-windows-store:WindowsUpgrade returned "Sorry, this update isn't available for your PC or you might be running an edition of windows that doesn't support updating from store."
As note: laptop is dual booting with linux (debian), using GRUB 1.98 as selector (as if it may ever matter...)
