I have Raxco PerfectDisk defragmenter installed on my PC. I want to remove
the program so I went to Add/Remove and searched for it. For some reason, it
no longer appears on the list. (I believe that someone in my family may
have done some inadvertent tampering, however, it could also have been me.)
When I go into Explore and select the individual files to delete them, I get
a message stating that the files may be in use and cannot be deleted; or
similar words. The types of files that I can't delete are dll files.

Does anyone know how I can remove all files associated with PerfectDisk from
my machine?

Thanks.

You probably need to start with reinstalling it, and then immediately
uninstall it. This will stop the processes so that they can be removed,
and remove the registry entries that lauch them. Apps like defragmenters
often have components running as drivers, and they're running even if you
can't see them. The uninstallers know how to stop these processes.

If that doesn't work, your next step is to check with Raxco support for
manual removal instructions.

Have you looked in Program Files\Raxco to see if there is an
uninstall.exe icon ? Also if there is an icon bottom right by the
clock , you will have to exit there before it uninstalls .
