Unable to print on network

I recently connected my WinXP SP2 (ethernet) to a Macbook Pro via
AirPort (Space Station). The network is connected to the internet by
cable - with a Vonage VoIP modem in between. Everything worked fine
until the VoIP modem failed and was replaced. Now I cannot get the PC
to print or see the HD in the Apple router. It does spool the print
files. The Mac system works OK. I have followed all the MS and Mac
instructions on the net and their respective newsgroup with no success.
Can someone please help me fix this mess.

if, when you send the print job from the PC, the files spool, this
means there is not a problem with the drivers. must be network
settings.

I agree. But which machine and which setting? I have tried all the
variables I can think of. One article said "make sure the machines have
the same workgroup name". I cannot find any way to set the Mac
workgroup. Another article said "change the name of the PC". Did that
too. I ran Network Settings any number of times to no avail. Any more
ideas would be most welcome. Thanks.

the pc is sending files to the mac, which has the printer connected,
correct?

if so, you need to match your PC to the workgroup the mac has placed
itself on. a google search said to find this, Run Applications-
>Utilities->Directory Access then look under SMB/CIFS and it will tell

you what Workgroup you are a member of. then change your PC to match
it.
