I'm upgrading MS Streets and Trips 2002 to the new 2008 version. When I
attempt to run the install disc it does not run automatically. When I
attempt to manually initiate the install process I get the following error
message:

E:\Setup_ST.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

What's up? Is there a compatibility issue with XP-Pro? My PC is only about
a year old and running all upgrades. Streets 2002 runs just fine.

Thanks for any advice you can offer,
-Carl...

Try uninstalling the older version and rebooting first.

Thanks V Green. I already uninstalled Streets '02 and got the same error
message. This happens whether I try to manually install using "Run" or
"Explorer".

Odd that a new Microsoft application would be incompatible with Windows, no?
Or maybe not ;-)

Anyway, HELP! I still can't install Streets '08; any other suggestions out
there?

Thanks,
-Carlinhos...

Well, then, just the usual-

turn OFF antivirus while installing

make sure the acct you're installing from
has Administrator privileges

This isn't an operating system issue. Take your discussion elsewhwere.

Assuming you are loading from a CD and not a downloaded file, try posting in
a Trips newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...&pt=&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-us

If you somehow downloaded Trips, the "not valid" message is usually
associated with a file corrupted during the download.
