Just took a look at the great Vista. This is just one of the many forums,
and only one of the many, many pages on that forum.

I really am glad I am running Ubuntu.

Yes. You should do that. You should also peruse this group and note the
number of folks STILL having problems with vista after nearly a year and a
half.

Hardy is running fine on my machines and a few others that I have
installed it on. What, exactly, are YOU having problems with?

You are right John I have better things to do. Just found it hilarious the
host of problems they have and they have a nerve to complain about Vista

What's to complain about? Just don't use Vista and you won't have any
problems with it.

I have just installed Hardy and its brilliant. I suppose you could spend
your valuable time solving the problems of poor souls those who are
struggling with this precious crap system called vista. As for me, I am
extremely happy with this fantastic OS of Ubuntu.

LOL. Frank is probably on that board with his many IDs cranking out the
FUD.

You know I try to stay as far away with anything UBANTU as possible, but, I
followed your link to that group.....Interesting reading, looks like,
according to their own poll:
More people are having trouble with the install than not:
76.42 had problems from minor to serious.
It worked well for 23.86% of the responders.
The form had about 800 topics 4 days or less old.....
What would you be calling Vista with that kind of problem rate?

Yes, I am sure some of you are happy with UBANTU (about 23.86%) but, I have
had no major problems with Vista, a couple of minor problems and am,
frankly, very happy with it.

My suggestion for all the pro UBANTU, VISTA bashers is go to your own
groups, your help is badly needed there.

View Poll Results: What was your gutsy install/upgrade experience ?

Upgrade - worked flawlessly 67 13.32%
Upgrade - worked but had few things to solve 148 29.42%
Upgrade - got many problems which i've not been able to solve 85 16.90%

Install - worked flawlessly 53 10.54%
Install - worked but had few things to solve 63 12.52%
Install - got many problems which i've not been able to solve 87 17.30%

What I don't understand is why ubuntites spend so much time here if they don't
care for vista, instead of helping those poor flapping souls solve their
ubuntu problems. As justbob below kindly pointed out some 70+% users are
having major problems and judging from the posts on the forum a new problem
surfaces every minute. And that's just one forum.

So please go over to that forum and put your 20% knowledge to good use and
help solve those problems. I am sure they would be very appreciative

Over and out!

Bill

And they complain about Vista?? Ill stick with Vista, it runs goods and I
evern like it. I do appreciate the tips ive learned here to make getting
used much easier.

Now you have Ubuntu and like it, you should spend your time in the Ubuntu
forums helping others with similar likes and dislikes..

That answer for myself is easy, to dispel the anti-Linux FUD and BS. As
well to express my feeling ripped off with Vista. While Vista looks
pretty, it's performance is like a handicapped snail.

Most of the Vista/MS fan-boys here can't help with anything, but line up
at bashing Ubuntu (and others) for posturing. Nothing wrong with Ubuntu
at all. Bet MS even steals the X-Windows+Tab button feature. Nice touch
and fast.

Actually, it's page 2.

So...........you decided that it sucks by reading a forum where people go
to get help ?

Did you d/l the live CD and try it ? Of course, that runs slow anyway,
from the CD, but it will show if it detects all of your hardware and will
install properly. And if so, do an install to a spare HD and try it for
real.

My guess is it would *most likely* install and work fine, you'd mess
around with it for an hour or 2, but since it is different from Vista,
and not wanting to get used to something else, you'd just drop it there.

Or are you like some of the others, condemn without ever even giving it
an honest shot ?

No. You should hold yourself to a higher standard.

Where's the other 40.36 %?

I have snipped most of your post, I am just wondering how/why UBANTU is
being judged differently than Vista... a couple of points you make are

"> So...........you decided that it sucks by reading a forum where people go

Like this one for VISTA?

So you are saying it is just too much effort to learn a new OS?

> Or are you like some of the others, condemn without ever even giving it

Actually, I did, I did not care for it, could not find my music, photos,
internet connection or a great many other things...even at that, I never
said it Sucks, I said I DID NOT CARE FOR IT.
I have not suggested you drop UBANTU for VISTA, that is YOUR decision, just
as VISTA is MY decision but, I am suggesting that since you have a perfect
UBANTU install, your time may be better spent on the VERY ACTIVE UBANTU
group helping people that, like you, prefer UBANTU.

Yes thanks for that its page 2..the complaints were coming in so fast!

And where did I say it sucks or condemn it??? If anything sucks and needs
condemning it would be the idiotic ignorant ubuntuites around here

People come here , vista, for help and get bombarded by ubuntuites and their
silly stupid remarks

Hope you will point them in the right direction as well
