Ubuntu 8.04 What A Piece Of Crap, Just FYI

I thought I would download the new Ubuntu 8.04 and give it a try because all
the Ubuntu nut jobs were saying how cool Ubuntu is with their new release.

I installed Ubuntu on my machine. I tried Open Office Spreadsheet. I
thought I would try to enter a Macro then run it. I then had to install
Java to be able to run a macro. If I didn't know that I needed to use
Synaptic to figure out how to get the Java update, I would be screwed along
with many others who try this crap. Just FYI

OK, so Java installs. BFD. It works but it isn't that good.

Now, lets play some music. I navigated to bobrivers.com to play a tune. I
was prompted to install some more updates. Fine. Did that. The install
went OK. Then I had to install a couple more updates. That went fine. Now
I clicked on the song to play and the page just froze.

No wonder why Ubuntu is such a piece of crap. Can't play a simple tune from
a web page. Now in Vista, I could navigate right to the page, play the song
and I would be as happy as a clam in a whorehouse.

Ubuntu sucks.

Just FYI

Your right I just made a post saying about the same thing, I thought it was
a big piece of crap also. Keep an eye on this post over the next few days
and prepare to be flamed by the Ubuntu fan-boys that troll this newsgroup.

All those Ubuntu blow-hards think that Ubuntu is greater than sliced bread,
they have another thing coming. Maybe Ubuntu is making inroads but it has a
long, long haul to be anywhere near what Windows 98 was! They are that far
behind the times.

If I had a choice of keeping Ubuntu or having to use Windows 98, I would use
Windows 98 in a heartbeat.

Yea, after my experience with Ubuntu I'd be happy to use Windows 3.11 with
networking..... LOL

I had no problem doing all that with ubuntu.

Vista & XP has their own limitations..

for example you cannot play divx avi videos out of the box..

Windows comes with a few propietary codecs preinstalled, ubuntu has none,
but there is always pclinux 2008 that has everything and plays right from
the box.
Far more types of media and files than vista can out of the box.
This includes almost any kind of video, sound and document.

So the only thing that needs upgrade is your stupid brain you pathetic
stinky evil lame roadkill monkey

Why dont you leave? You are the only true troll in here anyway

No complaints about any hardware setup problems. Cool!

On the Applications menu did you see a thingy called "Add/Remove..."?

Had you clicked on that, then typed, "java" at the search box and hit
enter, you would have found "Sun Java 6 Runtime" at the top of the list.

But how do you install Java on Windows? You go to their website and
download it. You could have done that too, though that method is harder
than using "Add/Remove..." or Synaptic.

> OK, so Java installs. BFD. It works but it isn't that good.

You couldn't elaberate on that a little more? Compare and contrast the
difference in functionality between java on Windows v. Linux.

Can you post an URL to the exact song, Butt Monkey? Everything there I
tried worked fine for me, but I'm not trying to imply that you didn't
have a problem.

Windows! /sarcasm

Well, if you think clams go to whorehouses, perhaps the problem lies in
your mind, not Ubuntu.

If you think it's OK to be an Ubuntu jihadist in a Vista NG, perhaps the

Spreading the good word about Ubuntu is not being a "jihadist" by any
stretch of the imagination so the problem is obviously in your biased
and bigoted mind.

LOL! If you think that over-exaggerating was necessary, why not just
invoke Godwin's Law and call him a Ubuntu Nazi.

The only difference between you and Frank is that you aren't as obsessed,
but you are just as ignorant.

Yah, what I expected from you... you can rationalize your "spreading the
good word about Ubuntu" in a Vista NG all you want... "general" does not
mean "anything"... it means Vista questions that don't fall into any of
the other Vista NG's. If you continue to refuse to deny that... well,
the root cause is obviously your biased and bigoted mind.

And what's not general about Vista's alternatives?

Is not XP offered as an alternative here at times?

Sorry, but you don't own this newsgroup, but if ya'll weeping about this
crap want to do something other than wipe your tears, petition MS to make
a private vista group for you net nannies.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. "I think breathing is a piece of
crap." What does "a piece of crap" really mean anyway? If you think that, then say what
it is you think is bad about Ubuntu.
