TROUBLE with xp home pc to connect to xp pro network

is there anything special to use when connecting an xp home pc to xp pro
network?
 
If you mean pc to pc or similiar,yes.One needs to connect thru LAN (cable)
ports thru a CAT5e UTP Cable Crossover,looks just like the normal cable
plug in buts its not..They run about 8-10.00

You need ordinary network hardware and cabling.

Only in the case where you are connecting two network cards *directly*, not
with a router, hub or switch in between, will you use a crossover cable.
Using a crossover cable otherwise will prevent the connection from working.

From there, what you need to do depends on what network resources you need
and where they're located. If you need access to a shared folder, you have
to set permissions appropriately.

If you just need internet access, and if there's a router, you need do
almost nothing but plug in.

Some more detail as to what exactly you wish to do, and why you've included
the word "TROUBLE" in your post title would be helpful.
