transferring win8 license on a new pc build

I brought a windows 8 pro license when I built a pc over a year ago. I am now building a new one I wish to use the license on.



However I forgot to deactivate windows before I wiped the HDD it was installed on. Does this matter at all? What would be the process for re activating on my new build?
