Toshiba Windows XP Home Ed not starting up

Hi, this is my first time here, and I must keep this short.
I was working on Microsoft Word and it starts lagging. No problem, it
happens all the time after I use it a long time. I save and restart the
computer. Everything is normal. But when the Toshiba is on the TOSHIBA: IN
TOUCH WITH TOMORROW it attempts to restart. Not successful. Just before the
Windows Logo and loading bar show up, the screen goes black (not as in the
black but still active screen, as in "power off" screen. It's completely
dead) and it keeps looping back to the TOSHIBA: ITWT screen. It's been like
that for 15 minutes, I tried booting Safe Mode, unplugging and replugging,
all nothing. My child needs to use that computer for 3 project printouts, and
if this doesn't get resolved soon, my child's work and computer is in
jeopardy!
Someone please help!!!

I'm not sure your laptop has the tools to repair a damaged hard drive. You
would need to access the "Recovery Console" prompt, to type:
CHKDSK /R

The prompt is available when you boot to the setup XP install CD, and Press
'r' for repair at the startup screen.
If it has a floppy drive, there are disks to download and create that get
you there.

I apologize but the instructions do not seem to help. Only the loop is in
effect, and for the repair part, do I have use a recovery disk?
Also, the link to bootup discs is not available.

Works this time too, I think the URL was different.
Also, for the boot ups, are they requiring floppy discs? The small ones that
need an extra extension? I might as well include that I use a Toshiba XP Home
Edition laptop. I don't have a floppy drive, so does that mean that the boot
up won't work?
Also, I tried rebooting everything via F8. Nothing worked. I also attempted
to use last good config settings and safe mode, but zip works...
Is it possible to use the boot up files on a CD-R?
Thanks for helping!
