Hello

When i go to Date and Time Properties in my Control Panel on the Internet
time tab it always reads "An error occurred while Windows was syncronizing
with time.windows.com" and when i click the update now button it comes back
with the same error , it does it when i try "time.nist.gov" to. Can you
fine folks help me out with this or is it something a novice user should not
fool with?
Thanks
larry

Use another time server, that's what I did ages ago when receiving too many errors -

A list of the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) time servers that are available on the
Internet
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262680

Just type in the combo listbox.
No registry editing.

Also if your computer keeps good time there is really no reason to use a
time server although it is a cool thing to use. You can also use your own
computer as its time server and the way to do that is this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters
Value Name: LocalNTP
Data Type: REG_WORD
Value: 1

Using regedit.

Set this to Value 0 if you want to use a time server.
