We have a file server running W2K3. When trying to copy the file to another
W2K3 machine, I get the following error, "the specified network name is no
longer available." Nothing gets logged into the log file. From another W2K3
machine on a different subnet, I was able to successfully copy the file. I
then copied the file to the server that was having the issues. Networking
claims that there are no dropped packets. Anyone have the same issue?

Are these subnets listed in AD sites and services? In DNS?

Yes for both. You had the same idea that I had regarding DNS. I had someone
try copying the file from their workstation (XP SP2) and it also failed.

Do you want to access the file server with the server name or an alias ?
