Hi,

Has anyone managed to get Quickbooks 2006 Accountant Version working
with Terminal Services on Windows 2003.

I have followed the instructions http://ts.veranoest.net/ts_apps_qb.htm
without luck - I am unsure if this applies to the US versions.....

Any help much appreciated

Giles

Different versions might use some different/extra registry keys.
Did you have a look at this list from Intuit:
http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/archive/downloads/qb2006
_regkeys.pdf

If that still doesn't work, you'll have to identify which registry
keys are specific for your version.

Download Process Monitor:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/p
rocessmonitor.mspx

Run it as Administrator on the Terminal Server (when no user is
connected), start a TS session as a normal user and try to run the
application.
Process Monitor will show you all "access denied" errors that
occur, so that you can give your users the necessary permissions on
a file-to file or Registry subkey basis.

If you get it to work, I would appreciate it very much if you could
report back here which additional registry keys you needed to
modify!

Thanks Vera for your reply, I will give that a try, however the
application will not run even as an Administrator...

If I install the program with only Remote Administration mode working
then I can get it working, I need to add standard users to Power
Users, but it does work.

However, if I uninstall and setup TS and then reinstall it does not
work for Administrator or any user.....

The error that I get is ERROR: Quickbooks failed to load the required
file!!! Please reinstall QuickBooks.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Giles

I assume that you put the server in install mode before installing?
And activated QB immediately after rebooting the server, also in
install mode? Because I believe that this has to do with licensing.

Process Monitor should be able to show you which file QB wants to
load.
