Hi all,

I very new at this so please bear with me...
I have a new windows server 2003, which terminal services has passed its
grace period. All I want to use the server for is basic RDC. Do I need to
install fully blown Terminal Server and purchase CALS ??
I believe Windows 2000 used to come with free CALS (5)

Any advice would be gratefully receieved !!!
THANKS

If the server has used its grace period, then you already have
installed full-blown Terminal Services.

If you just want Remote Desktop for Administration, with its 3 free
connections for Administrators only, then you must *uninstall*
Terminal Services. Make sure that Remote Desktop for Administration
is enabled after uninstalling TS. It's in Control Panel - System -
Remote.

If you need more than 3 connections, for normal users, then you
must install Terminal Services Licensing and buy TS CALs.
