I have a Terminal Server on a site that had a license held against an old PC.
A new Pc was using a temporary license. 2 days ago the license for the old PC
expired and the tempory license expired yesterday. The expired license is
still showing against the old PC and hasnt released and the new PC cannot now
connect.

Why hasnt the old license become available. It is showing the date from 2
days ago for the expiry date.

You might have a problem where if Microsoft's Volume
Shadow Copy Service (VSS) is running on the server, it could stop
the thread in TS License Server that reclaims expired licenses.

Try stopping and restarting TS License Server - it will restart the
thread, and, if the bug is the culprit, expired licenses will be
returned to the pool of available licenses within a couple of
minutes after the reboot.

926935 - A Terminal Services client may be unable to connect to a
Terminal Services license server that is installed on a Windows
Server 2003-based computer
