Synchronisation of files on a Windows mobile 2003 device

I have just upgraded to Visat. I can synchronise the files on my Pocket PC
but unlike Activesync it does not convert them from .pcw files to word files
that my Office will recognise. Does anyone know how this is done in Vista?
