When I was using Zorin OS I was having a problem with it freezing up for no reason. I did a lot of investigating, that included taking my computer to a profession shop to have the hardware tested, ram reseated etc. Therefor I know that all my hardware is currently fine.

Recently I installed LXLE 12.04.4 64bit RC LTS, and then I erased it and installed LXLE 14.04 64bit. I'm experiencing a problem with it. When I click on "shut down" you can hear the computer start to shut down but not completely. I think what I'm hearing is the hard drive turning off but then the motherboard and video stays on. The system completely freezes in this position. You haft to hold down the power button to force it to turn off.

I was talking to another Linux user in a chatroom. He asked me if I have a swap partition or not. This is not the first time a person has asked me about the swap partition. Today I installed Htop and took a look. What I see it doing is something that I saw my Zorin OS do. I don't know for sure if this is the problem or not, but from what others have told me it shouldn't be like this. I have 4 gigs of swap space and it is working. I also have an additional 1 give of swap that is not going to that hard drive, which means it's actually taking up ram space! If you use Gparted or any other method to turn the swap partition off, 1 gig of swap will remain. I don't have any other swap partition on the hard drive. Do any of you know if this is something I should fix? If so how?

I am willing to post screen shots of anything you wish to see.
