'Support' didn't help and seemed to have made things worse!

I'm having major problems with windows update, I have reported the problem to 'support' who have failed to resolve the issue, even though support were in control of my system for over 2 hours, most of that time was total inactivity.

The level 1 technician (Shen) was very helpful and spent 30 mins or so trying to fix the problem, she then had to hand the problem over to a level 2 technician (Eldrik) who over the next hour and a half barely spent 10 minutes 'fixing' the problem. After
seeing no activity for over 30 mins I asked if anyone was actually working on the problem and was abruptly disconnected.
My initial problem was that windows update kept installing the same 2 updates every time the system was shut down (this meant that 'shutdown' usually took 20 mins or so) It has done this for weeks. The issue now (after support have helped) is that no updates
will install nor will the wizard work at all.
Where do I go from here, I'm really unhappy with the lack of service I've received.
