Streaming Video Freezing

Matt

I bought an iBuypower computer with Vista Home Premium, and since I bought
it, it has been unable to play streaming video without freezing or
blue-screening. I think it may be a problem with Adobe, as most online video
players use flash, and it has frozen a few times reading Adobe files. Videos
saved in .avi, .wmv, and Quicktime seem to work so far. I've asked around,
and the concensus seems to be that the problem is with Vista. Maybe there is
a conflict between the two? It has also frozen a few times while using
iTunes. Anyway, is there a fix for this that someone could direct me to? Thx.

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed?

Here is a suggestion made by another poster:

In response to what you quoted above ... I watch plenty of youtube videos
and not once have I experienced video stopping. Methinks it's a problem on
the Windoze end as I use Ubuntu and that must be why I NEVER experience
this "simply stop sending video".

Cheers.

To educate. But that doesn't include you. You're too braindead to educate
about anything. Including not being able to figure out why I'm here.

Cheers.

PS. see sig below for additional help.

Let me see if I understand your reason or motivation for being here.
1) you don't have Vista and you proly don't have any MS software
installed at all. Is that correct?
2) you're here daily spreading your message of hatred towards all things
MS and towards all users of any MS software. Is that correct?
3) yet you think that you are "educating" others using hatred, in order
for them to what...stop using all MS software and use only linux or more
specifically ubuntu? Is that correct?
4) then you actually believe that I and others who challenge you on your
purpose for being here, need mental help?
Really?

I often wonder about the handful of you MS hating, linux loving trolls
like you who spend everyday in this MS ng spreading your message of
hatred and what exactly it is you hope to achieve and what it is in the
past that has motivated you to be here and spew your hatred on a daily
basis? Did MS not hire you? Or did MS fire you? Are you that vindictive
or are you and the others just plain suffering from the same psychosis?

And you think I need mental help...lol...that's really both funny and
sad and very telling about the mental health state of you and the your
fellow linturds.

Yes, I call it validation by majority vote. People take a position on
something without any empirical evidence to support their choice. This
choice can, however, be validated by getting other people on board.

It's kinda like some religions. Or infections.

Look at the (informal) dress code on college campuses. In those disciplines
where the "truth" is provable (mathematics, the physical sciences,
engineering), nobody pays much attention to what they wear. In those
disciplines where "truth" is determined by majority vote (English, History,
Fine Arts, etc.), they all wear uniforms (the men wear tweed jackets with
leather elbow patches, the ladies wear black dresses with pearls).

Correct. But I used to use MS software until I realized there are far better
alternatives.

Incorrect. I have nothing against users who wish to use MS software. But
when such a user is confronted with the inherent problems that arise using
MS toy operating systems, I simply point out there is an alternative os
available that works better.

I only hate Wintards like you Frank. Most ordinary and honest MS users, I
have no problem with.

It was YOU that stated you suffered from a brain injury. It's obvious that
this malady continues to affect you. So do read my sig for further help.

So I am correct...you have no MS software loaded.

Then why are you daily bad mouthing them, huh? What does their using MS
software have to do with you or your livelihood?

But

That "toy" OS is the backbone of the computing world, like it or not.

I simply point out there is an alternative os

That is not at all factually true and you and the entire world computing
knows it. You may not like or use MS but millions of computer users do.
You may like linux, but many millions don't.

There you go! The real truth. I don't buy your stupid lying insulting bs
and I don't let you get by with it and you hate me for it.
Excellent!

Most ordinary and honest MS users, I

Not according to any of your postings. You have a deep and profound
hatred for all things MS and all MS users. I just happen to call your
hateful ass on that point and you don't like it. Too bad loser.

You are out of your fukkin mind! I have not suffered from and brain/head
injury in my life. Obviously making things up is part and parcel of
being a linux troll and FUD spreader.

It's obvious that

So you are mentally impaired and crippled...which is so very obvious.
I've not gone to you your sig URL and never will, but I can presume it's
a place you're personally familiar with.
Frank

Although you two flaming each other is quite facinating, none of this has
anything to do with my freezing problem. So either post something relevent
and helpful, or get the hell out.

This sounds like a serious driver problem with your video card. Is there a
driver update available? What video card is this?

According to the nVidia web site, that would appear to be the 163.75 release
from Nov 6th - is that the one on your system?

I'm sticking firmly to my diagnosis of a video card / driver problem *given
the symptoms you've described*.

It's entirely possible that even with the latest drivers you would still
have problems, in which case it's likely time to have a chat with nVidia
support.

OK, sounds like it's time to talk to nVidia support then, since you're blue
screening attempting to access video functionality.
