I get a message from Zone Alarm that "sonar component is trying to
communicate with Win...."
Is it something intrinsic to Windows XP? Please someone tell me if it is
something to worry about.

Thanks, Joan

Hi Joan,

Perhaps one of Cakewalk's Sonar products is installed on your computer?
http://cakewalk.com/Products/default.asp
If so, then it may be connecting to the internet to look for updates.

Thanks for the link Patti, but I do not have any of the products in my PC
that are listed in their site . Do I have to worry about security? Or might
it be part of a product I might have like Nero 7Ultra ed? Joan

If you dont recall installing "sonar componentent" or know what it's for
then dont let it talk to the Internet.

I've been getting the same message and didn't know what it was. I went
into Zone Alarm and looked under -Program Control- and found Sonar
Component in the Programs list. When I right clicked on Sonar Component
and selected -Properties-, COH32.exe was listed as the application name
and the location was listed as C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYMANTEC
SHARED\COH. Since I'm also running Symantec's Norton Antivirus, I
assumed it was something related to that; however, I couldn't find
anything on the Symantec site about Sonar when I did a search there.
