Betaworks has launched a new project and app called [HASHTAG]#Homescreen[/HASHTAG]. The app allows you to share your Home screen with other iPhone users, while the website allows you to view shared screens and discover new apps.


The app is very straight forward. After granting it permission to access your photos, [HASHTAG]#Homescreen[/HASHTAG] scans your library for screenshots, uploading them to the website. You can also Tweet your Home screen, open the upload in Safari, and confirm #Homescreen's app detection.

The app detection is the most interesting part of the [HASHTAG]#Homescreen[/HASHTAG]. The project detects the apps present in a given screenshot, and will give you app descriptions when viewing a particular Home screen on the website.

Both the [HASHTAG]#Homescreen[/HASHTAG] app and site are free to use. You can download [HASHTAG]#Homescreen[/HASHTAG] from the App Store now.
