I'm not sure if this would be the right group , but any assistance would be
appreciated.
A friend has Microsoft Home Publishing 200 installed on her computer , but
unfortunately she has misplaced the disk and we want to install it on her
new computer.

When I run CHANGE from AD / REMOVE programs it runs the installer, so
obviously there's a copy of the installation on the hard drive , but I don't
know where to look for it.

Can anyone suggest where I might look and would burning it to CD allow a re
install , assuming I can locate the product ID etc ? This is really '
important ' because she bought a new computer with XP as opposed to Vista ,
so she could use it. She really enjoys making flyers etc for the Church.

In general, it is not possible to create an installation disk in the manner
that you suggest.
Most likely, most of the code is located in a sub folder of Program Files
for the exclusive
use of the package.
In addition, some installations put files in a sub folder of \Program
Files\Common Files.
Yet others place files in \Windows\System32.
In addition, lots of installations add entries to the Registry.

Reverse engineering installations can be tedious and time consuming.

By the way, I edit a newsletter for my local genealogy society, but I use MS
Word.

Thanks Jim...I thought it might be something like that.
This is a 'legit' case....she's not trying to rip anything off. Before we
got the new computer I found the case for the software , but it wasn't until
we actually got the computer and opened the case to retrieve the CD that we
realised it was gone ! ARGHHHHHH
